Les Franqueses del Vallès unveils the commemorative mural of the European Town of Sport 2024.

Local artist Marc None has designed and painted this mural representing all the sports entities of Les Franqueses del Vallès.

Since this Wednesday, the municipal sports area of Corró d’Avall has a commemorative artistic work representing Les Franqueses, the European Town of Sport 2024. A mural, designed and executed by the municipality’s artist, Marc None, representing the sports practiced by the more than 40 sports entities of Les Franqueses del Vallès.

The artist in charge of the project, Marc None, started work on Monday morning and the painting took shape until Wednesday at noon when it was completed. The mural features up to 17 human figures, men and women, practicing various sports. An image that explains the sports diversity of the municipality with sports such as football, basketball, handball, and volleyball but also sports characteristic of Les Franqueses del Vallès such as archery or canicross.

Precisely one of the premises that the artist, Marc None, had was this. To ensure that all sports entities in the municipality were represented. “This is a piece where all the sports entities of the town had to be represented and, the truth is, it was quite a challenge because fortunately, we have many. Representing them all in a mural was a challenge for me but I think we have achieved it and that, everyone, will see themselves represented in this work.” In the same line, the sports councilor, Carlos Munzón, expressed himself, inviting everyone to come and see it “because it’s spectacular. Marc has done an incredible job. All the entities are represented through all the sports we do in the municipality and, really, I invite everyone to come and see this work of art“.

The location of this work is not random. The mural has been painted on one of the exterior walls that delimit the municipal football field of Corró d’Avall and is exposed to everyone’s view. The sports councilor, Carlos Munzón, considers this to be one of the best locations because it is at the heart of sports since “here we have the sports complex, the pavilion, the football field, the tennis courts, and the vast majority of sports facilities. The public turnout is very high, and we believed this was the best point to place this mural. So everyone who comes to do sports can see it and have a memory of the European Town of Sport 2024“.
