The municipality will receive the award in December at a ceremony in the European Parliament.
ACES Europe has announced Les Franqueses as the best town, Tatras (Slovakia) as the best sports community, and Kayseri (Turkey) as the best European sports city of 2024.
Today, ACES Europe revealed the winners of the annual ACES Awards Gala, where cities, towns, and communities that have worked throughout the year for this distinction are recognized. This effort has led to the organization of sports and cultural events promoting sports and its values, culminating in a ceremony to be held at the European Parliament in Brussels on December 12.
ACES Europe has announced today that Les Franqueses del Vallès is recognized as the Best European Sports Town of 2024. This is a significant acknowledgment for the hard work done throughout the year by all those involved in sports in Les Franqueses. The team from the Municipal Sports Board, sports organizations, clubs, athletes, and the general public have been the driving force behind this achievement as the European Sports Town and are truly deserving of this award.
Throughout 2024, Les Franqueses has organized nearly ninety sports and cultural events directly related to the celebration of the European Sports Town. This agenda kicked off last February with an inauguration party that gathered over 800 people and will continue in the coming months until the end of the year.
ACES Europe took into account both the number of events organized in the municipality and the entities, clubs, and athletes involved, as well as public participation. This assessment has been overwhelmingly positive, allowing Les Franqueses del Vallès to be chosen as the best European town of the year.
