This year, a new category has been created for the best athlete Master +40, recognizing individuals born in 1982 or earlier.
The 27th edition of the Night of Sport in Les Franqueses once again brings together athletes and clubs to pay tribute to the merits achieved during the 2022-2023 season.
As every year, a self-nomination system has been used, allowing individuals to apply for these awards. With a panel of experts selecting the finalists and the active participation of local entities to make the final decision through a vote.
As a novelty, this year a new category of “Best athlete Master +40” has been created, recognizing individuals born in 1982 or earlier. In total, 10 categories have been awarded: amateur, training and promotion, male and female, Master +40, the best coach, and also the best female and male team.
Nominations in the various categories have totaled 108 names. Thus, there have been 34 nominees in the male categories; 34 nominees in the female categories, 14 nominations for coaches, 8 in the Master +40 category. And finally, 18 for teams.
The authorities present at the gala were the Mayor of Les Franqueses del Vallès, Juan Antonio Corchado Ponce; the Sports Councilor, Carlos Munzón Cruz; the technical advisor of the Sports Department of the Barcelona Provincial Council, Abel Garcia Marín, and the vice president of the Vallès Oriental Sports Council, Álvaro Ferrer Vecilla. In addition, the 27th Night of Sport in Les Franqueses featured former FC Barcelona player, Sergi Barjuan, as the guest athlete.
