Up to 23 teams from Catalonia and France have participated in a new edition of a tournament that is part of the events of Les Franqueses, European Sports Town 2024.
The Corró d’Amunt Sports Zone hosted the tenth edition of the International Summer Tournament of the Les Franqueses Hockey Club this past weekend. A competition that brought together 23 teams from all over Catalonia and included this year the participation of two French teams, Coutras and Athletic Cestas.
From Friday to Sunday, up to 33 matches were played in the pre-benjamín, benjamín, alevín, infantil, juvenile, and veterans categories. The finals took place on Sunday morning, with the host club winning in the pre-benjamín and Femení 13 categories. In the benjamín category, the winner was Ripollet, followed by the Les Franqueses Hockey Club and Sant Josep de Badalona. In the alevín category, Mollet won the final against Sant Josep, while the host team finished in third place ahead of the French Coutras. In the infantil category, the winner was Sant Josep, who defeated the Les Franqueses Hockey Club in the final, with Coutras completing the podium in third place. In the juvenile category, the winners were the French Athletic Cestas, who beat Sant Josep de Badalona in the final, while the home team finished in third place ahead of Coutras. Finally, in the veterans category, the winner was Palau, who defeated Les Franqueses in the final.
The tenth edition of the International Summer Tournament of the Les Franqueses Hockey Club was officiated by a pair of referees from the Spanish Skating Federation, Rosa Fernández and Gonzalo Valpuesta, who came specifically from Seville to participate in this competition.
