The Municipal Football Stadium of Corró d’Avall will host this commemorative match for Les Franqueses, European City of Sport 2024.
This Sunday, September 15th, at 12 noon at the Municipal Football Stadium of Corró d’Avall, the commemorative match for Les Franqueses, European City of Sport 2024, will take place. The match will pit a team of FC Barcelona veterans against the first team of Club de Futbol Les Franqueses. It will be an exhibition match, with free entry for everyone, bringing some of the legendary players from the iconic Barça Dream Team to Les Franqueses del Vallès.
The Barça squad will include names of former players who played under Johan Cruyff, such as Sergi Barjuan from Les Franqueses, Albert ‘Chapi’ Ferrer, Jesús Mariano Angoy, and Eusebio Sacristán. Additionally, other former Barça players like Gerard López, Samuel Okunowo, Jonathan Soriano, Santi Ezquerro, and Dani Tortolero, among many others, will also play this Sunday in Les Franqueses. This star-studded team will put the local side to the test, as CF Les Franqueses, currently playing in the Segona Catalana league, is in full pre-season preparation.
The event will be attended by the Secretary General of Sport of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Abel García Marín, as well as the mayor of Les Franqueses del Vallès, Juan Antonio Corchado Ponce, and the sports councilor, Carlos Munzón Cruz.
